Cristina Maldonado (MX/CZK) is a Mexican artist whose background in body movement lends a unique approach to her visual and conceptual experiments with video, sound, collage and performance. Her work unifies experimental theater, dance, participatory art, new and old media. Her topics are body, communication and intimacy. She creates experiential frames connecting installation, video and live action. She works alone or in collaboration with artists from different disciplines and has recently performed in Mexico, Portugal, Poland, Armenia, Romania, Finland, Cyprus, Germany, Russia and Czech Republic and now Minnesota, USA.

"I create the circumstances that would make a scenario a possibility.
It isn't about my knowledge against yours, but how we choose to give and receive that knowledge and perspective. There cannot be hostility on the receiving or giving end.
But the terms will have to be explained in a manner that the listener may follow along. Language must be shared between the two opposing ideas. This also means that the ideas may openly borrow the vernacular of the other.
This, I believe, is what leads to cohesion. Not agreement in content and steadfast allegiance to dogmas we don't understand, but rather a constant flow between the two opposites. A discharging lightning bolt attempts to equalize polar opposites, without actually changing either of them. The flow of energy is what quells the storm."

Dr. John Kannenberg, MFA (UK) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work investigates the sonic geography of museums, the psychology of collection, the processes of making and observing art, and the human experience of time.
